  KATHMANDU VALLEY TREKS & TOURS - 5 DAYS


This trekking leads an area close to Kathmandu. Yet it offers a rich insight into the lives, history, culture and religion, together with the picturesque daily toil in the fields of its inhabitants. The valley rim lies between 1800 and 2800m and in spring offers early flowering rhododendrons. In autumn and winter there are wonderful mountain vistas which can, from certain view-points, stretch from Everest in the east to Annapurna in the west and the major sightseeing places in Bhaktpur, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square.

Day to day itinerary:

Day 01: Upon arrival in Kathmandu
A representative will meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel.

Day 02: After breakfast, drive to the trekking starting point, trek to Shivapuri. Overnight camp.
Day 03: Trek to Chisapani. Overnight camp.
Day 04: Trek to Nagarkot - Spend the night in the camp.

Day 05:
Nagarkot
After breakfast, we begin our half day sight seeing tour of Bhaktapur the medical cities of devotees and the best preserved of all the old cities of Kathmandu Valley by visiting two very important religious centers, Pashupatinath temple for the Hindus, nearby along the banks of the river Bagmati is the cremation area for the dead. Boudhanath is possibly the largest stupa in the world and the center for Tibetan school of Buddhism. Overnight hotel.

Day 06: Kathmandu
We wake up early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful sunrise view. After breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu and again go for the half day valley sight seeing tour with a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, the place of the Malla and then the Shah kings of Nepal. Places of interest here are the Kasthamandap, a medieval rest said to give Kathmandu its name, Kumari Temple, abode of the virgin goddess. From here we visit Swoyambhunath stupa on top of the hill overlooking Kathmandu valley and then we visit Patan city famous for its arts and crafts. Tour highlights are the Shikara - style Krishna Temple, Patan Durbar with Royal bath, Hiranya Varna Mahavir - a Buddhist Monastery. Overnight hotel.

Day 07: Depart Kathmandu
